"There are people who love horses,
and there are people who love what horses can do for them.
I love horses." -Bob Loomis

Western Horsemanship
Here at M&T Reining Horses we also offer training in Western Horsemanship. We both started riding with Western Horsemanship, placing at the IHSA Nationals, and competing at AQHA, APHA, and PHBA shows. We are a firm believer in the new forward motion rule that AQHA has set into effect. We feel that a horse will be it’s most balanced and correct at a forward pace doing a true three beat lope. When your horse is not going forward is when you get undesirable effects, such as a four beat lope, head bobbing, or the crippled look. Here we strive to have our horses perform in the most natural way possible, while still being a pleasure to ride.

We also offer lessons in beginner Western Horsemanship to advanced. We do not have lesson horses of our own, however, we will work with you and your horse to better your performance as a team. We focus on equitation of the rider, which will help you to perform to your best abilities, and look your best doing so! We teach you the proper cues to give your horse, and teach the horse the proper way to execute each maneuver. There is a lot of focus on pattern work. We can teach you the best way to execute and perform your pattern, in order to best enhance your horse abilities, and to best show your horse off.
